Abstract

Amlapitta is a disease of gastro-intestinal tract. It is very common disease in present era and not only present but also since past era. The symptoms of Amlapitta are are very similar to gastritis or hyperacidity. The main cause of Amlapitta is aggravation of Pitta Dosha in body. Laghu sutshekhara Rasa is referenced from Rasa Tarangini Parishistha. Sutshekhar rasa is preapared from Shuddha Gairika, Shunthi and fresh juice of betel leaf. It is useful in Amlapitta, sheetpitta, shirshool, udarda, pittaja unmad etc. disorders. it is need of today to explain the mechanism of action of this drug on scientific basis.
