SYNTHESIS OF FEXOFENADINE DERIVATIVES FOR THEIR ANTIHISTAMINIC AND ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITIES

. Abstract 1-(4-bromophenyl)-4-chlorobutan-1-one, 1-(4-bromophenyl)-4-(4-secondary arylamines) butan-1-one and of 1-(4-bromophenyl)-4-(4-secondary arylamines) butan-1-ol were synthesized by Friedel Craft’s acylation, nucleophilic substitution and reduction reaction. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Mass spectral analysis. All the synthesized products were screened for their antihistaminic activity and antibacterial activity. Keywords: Fexofenadine, Sodium borohydride, Anti-Histaminic and Anti-Bacterial.
