PSORIASIS: CAUSES, DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT

. Abstract Psoriasis is a chronic, immune disease of the skin and joints. It may significantly impact an individual‟s physical as well as emotional wellbeing. Patients with psoriasis also experience mental illnesses, arthritis, metabolic disorders and obesity. The pathogenesis of psoriasis includes genetics, environmental factors, lifestyle causes and medication causes. Diagnosis of psoriasis can be done by selfexamination or skin biopsy and in some cases differential diagnosis may be required. Psoriasis cannot be cured but there are effective treatment options available. Attempts have been made in this review to focus on diagnostic methods and treatment options which may be used for psoriasis patients worldwide. Keywords: .
