Abstract

In today’s world Dysmenorrhea is emerging as a burning issue as the population of dysmenorrhoeic women is increasing day by day. This is explained as Udavartini Yonivyyapada in Ayurveda. The main clinical feature of Udavartini is Rajah kricchrata i.e. painful menstruation. No successful advances have been made in the line of management till today by western medicine. Therefore, a complete, comprehensive and holistic approach toward it is understanding and necessary. Uttarbasti, a unique Panchakarma procedure is studies for its role in Yonivyapadaas. A research to see role of Uttarbasti in the management of Udavartini Yonivyapadaa. As per the therapeutic approach Basti have good efficacy to normalize the vitiated Vata, vitiated Vata mainly responsible for all Yonivyapadaa. Uttarbasti found very effective in Garbhashayagata and Yonigata vatashamana. Uttarbasti in Udavartini Yonivyapadaa having both the effect of Shamana as well as Shodhana.
