DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF NASAL MUCOADHESIVE GEL USING NATURAL POLYMER
Shubham Namdev*, Abhishek Banke and R. B. Goswami
. Abstract Nasal drug delivery system has emerged to be an important area in the field of pharmaceutical research. Intranasal administration offers a variety of attractive options for local and systemic delivery of several drugs. This route thus, serves as an excellent needle-free alternative which may improve patient compliance and allows extended use of self medication for many chronic diseases. Compatibility of drug with mucoadhesive polymer was determined by FT- IR. FT-IR spectral analysis result showed that there was no interaction between drug & polymer and were compatible with each other. Present study it was observed that, the release of F1 and F2 formulation was more as compared to other formulations and the gelling property was found to be more in F4 and F5 when compared with other formulations. F3when compared with other formulations, it shows good release than F4 and F5 and also has a good gelling property than F1 and F2. So, we can say that F3 formulation is better as compared with others and can be used in future prospective. So, the study can be concluded that the polymer “Chitosan” is suitable for intra-nasal mucoadhesive preparation. Tapentadol is a centrally acting analgesic & anti-depressant type Tapentadol is used for the treatment of moderate to severe pain for both acute (following injury, surgery, etc.) and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Tapentadol is Pregnancy Category C. There are no adequate and wellcontrolled studies of tapentadol in pregnant women, tapentadol is not recommended for use in women during and immediately prior to labor and delivery. Keywords: Mucoadhesive polymer, Chitosan Tapentadol. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
