. Abstract Thuja orientalis Linn is a distinct genus of evergreen coniferous tree from the family Cupressaceous, containing only one species, Thuja orientalis (Morpankhi) known as Chinese Thuja. In the present study, leaves of Thuja orientalis were subjected to pharmacognostic evaluation. Various methods including macroscopic, microscopic, physicochemical, and phytochemical methods were applied to determine the features for the identification and standardization of intact and powdered drug of leaves of Thuja orientalis. Such analysis is proved useful to differentiate it from other drug material. Powdered plant material was extracted by soxhlet extractor in two solvent systems, ethanol and methanol after defating with petroleum ether. Keywords: Thuja orientalis, Standardization, Antioxidant activity, anti-inflammatory activity, Pylorus ligation. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
