POST COVID INFECTION: DIABETES MELLITUS AND HYPOTHYROIDISM

. Abstract The patients with the Corona virus could also be in danger of developing DM and sub acute thyroiditis. The DM could be a chronic disease that causes exaggerated glucose level. Covid19 virus spike super molecule will cause injury to beta cells in pancreas, due to this injury cells in duct gland isn’t able to maintain traditional glucose level this cause DM. because of uncontrolled sugar levels of diabetic patients infection will increase the risks. Recovered patients might have prediabetes or pre-existing conditions before severe acute respiratory syndrome -COV2 infection. In these patients, steroid usage continued once discharge, can raise the glucose level. In these patients with COVID 19 had a lower admission TSH and FT4. Compared to those while not ascertained gentle reduction in TSH and FT4 to keep with a non thyroidal illness syndrome. The thyroid function test after follow up survivor’s come back to baseline.
