SURYANAMASKAR AND ITS THERAPEUTIC IMPORTANCE IN TODAY’S SCENARIO

. Abstract Yoga is an ancient practice based on a harmony of body, psyche, and spirit to achieve inner tranquility and Nirvana. Suryanamaskar is a component of yoga. SN is a cumulation of 12 yogic asanas. It is executed in a dynamic, breath-synchronized manner and has three main components: form, energy, and rhythm. Suryanamaskar has been shown in the latest studies to benefit health in a variety of aspects, such as regulating blood glucose levels and maintaining the cardiovascular system healthy along with positive psychological health benefits. SN elicited high to moderate muscle activation of main postural trunk muscles and lower extremities during alternating flexion-extension movements, resulting in an overall energy expenditure of 13.91 kcal, with an average of approx. 3.79 kcal/min. Suryanamaskar is a faster and more convenient way to improve strength, body composition, and endurance. Spirometric parameters like forced vital capacity, vital capacity, forced expiratory, peak expiratory flow rate, etc are influenced by regular practice of SN. SN practice positively affects cardiovascular and frequency components of heart rate variability like systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, heart rate, etc., and boosted self-concept and lowered anxiety. Suryanamaskar has been shown in the latest studies to benefit health in a variety of aspects, such as regulating blood glucose levels and maintaining the cardiovascular system healthy. On the other hand, also have significant psychological benefits. The article aims to deliver a scholarly review of the research on Suryanamaskar's effects on a range of health outcomes and conditions.
