CRITICAL REVIEW OF ABHYANGA IN CLASSICS AND ITS IMPORTENCE

. Abstract Skin is the largest organ of the body. According to climate condition, skin is affected i.e., its inner tissues are affected. For this, ancient Acharya’s have described Abhyanga procedure in Ayurveda. Abhyanga is massage of the whole body with oil. The main role of this procedure is to maintain, care, rejuvenate, to improve blood circulation and strengthening the organ. It also has a cosmetologically effect on the skin. In today’s era peoples are so busy that they do not follow any Dinacharya regimen. Now a days, use of cosmetics has increased due to advertisement and selling marketing on big level that made an impact on every mind. Abhyanga with oil daily is not only useful for body but for mind too. Hence, it is necessary to know the Abhyanga procedure according to Ayurveda and modern.
