A DETAILED CRITICAL REVIEW ON PRATISHYAYA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO SHALAKYATANTRA

. Abstract To understand better and to get a deeper knowledge, Ayurveda has been divided into eight branches, out of which Shalakyatantra is one of the important eight branches. Shalakyatantra deals with the vital sense organs which are located above the jatru (sterno clavicular notch), which is included in the Uttamanga and also termed as the branch which deals with the Urdhva jatrugat rogas. Division of Ayurveda into eight branches and then their sub branches itself describes the importance of Speciality and Super speciality practice.
