Abstract

Labelling is defined as the information written on the package about the product within. Product labelling is the way to communicate the value of product to the customers. There are regulatory bodies who ensure the products to be labelled in a required manner to fulfil standards of GMP and thus provide best product to the customer. For regulation of food products, the governing body is Food & Drug Administration (FDA) whereas in case of medicines and cosmetics, this area is covered under Drugs & Cosmetics Act (D & C Act), 1940.
