PRAKRIT PRASAVA W.S.R. TO NORMAL LABOUR

. Abstract The labour or the act of childbirth which is carried out without any external aids is termed as Sukha Prasava or Normal Labour. Labour is a natural process. But in modern scenario incidence of caesarian section is rising day by day which ultimately increase the risk of maternal and fetal health. Acharya Kashaypa also explain at the time of labour women‟s one leg in this loka and other in Yamaloka. So it is necessary to know each and every step of cause of initiation of labour, duration of labour, various stages of labour, initiation of Aavi, process of Apara Patna, in order to prevent life threatening complications to fetus as well as mother. An elaborate description of Prasava is given in Ayurvedic Samhitas which help us to understand the concept of Prakrita Prasava and the factor which are required for normal labour.
