Neha R. Gulati*, Kular Simran Kaur and Dr. Cyril Sajan
. Abstract Serotonin syndrome (SS) is a serotoninergic hyperstimulation-induced iatrogenic clinical condition. Most clinicians (up to 85 percent) are ignorant of SS as a clinical entity, making it easy to miss the diagnosis. The complexity of its manifestations, which can mimic a range of medical diseases, makes diagnosis difficult.Ondansetron and tramadol have opposing effects on the serotonin pathway, which may enhance tramadol consumption and emesis when used together. Herein we have discussed a case who was provisionally diagnosed with acute pancreatitis by seeing to his USG profile and Chief complaints and the initial treatment given to the patient included Tramadol + Ondansetron with other drugs because of which the patient’s health deteriorated.
