A CASE REPORT ON A CHILD FAINTING DUE TO BREATH HOLDING SPELL TREATED AS MURCCHA THROUGH AYURVEDIC MEDICAMENTS

Abstract

Murccha is considered as vyadhi (disease) of nervous system (sanjanavaha srotas) which results due to intake of unwholesome diet and with mind covered with mansika doshas (Raja & Tamas) which ultimately blocks rakta (blood channels), rasavaha srotas (channels which carries nutrients) & sanjanavaha srotas (nerve channels) and imbalance in tridoshas (vata, pitta, kapha) which disturbs the mind and brings unconsciousness creating special symptoms as per doshas. A child aged 4 years reporting breath holding spell was treated through Ayurvedic medicaments, diagnosed as Pittaj Murccha.
