Anjana A. K.*, Pooja Nair K. R., Juno S., Sruthy Jacob I., Shahina N. S., Rakhi A. R.
. Abstract In this review article, the topic being discussed is Click Chemistry. Click chemistry is defined as a set of regiospecific and hemoselective reactions which are really fast and produce high yields of products. These reactions produce no or less byproducts. Different types of click reaction includes cycloaddition, substitution through nucleophiles, non-aldol type reactions and carbon-carbon multiple bond addition. Click reactions comes with a lot of advantages. One of the main disadvantage of click reaction is alkyne homocoupling. Click reactions are applied in many areas including the synthesis of hydrogels, drug discovery, radiolabelling, bioconjugation, polymer therapeutics, polymer chemistry, nanotubes, tagging E.coli and more. Keywords: Click chemistry, click reactions, cycloaddition, nucleophile, hydrogel. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
