Abstract

In appropriate diet and stress can lead to Amalpitta.It is commonly encountered disease of Annavaha Srotasa described by our Acharyas in Samhitas. If this problem is not attended properly it can lead to peptic ulcers and other complications. The cardinal features of Amalpitta are Tikta-Amla Udgara (Sour and bitter belching) Hritkanthdaha (heartburn and throat burn), Avipaka (indigestion) etc. The disease can be correlated with gastroesophageal reflux disease based on its clinical features. The Ayurvedic management given in this study is Madhuyashti Churna which has proved to be effective remedy in the treatment of Amalpitta.
