PHARMACOEPIDEMIOLOGY OF DENGUE

. Abstract Pharmacoepidemiology is the study of the utilization and effects of drugs in large number of peoples. Dengue is a mosquito borne viral disease that has rapidly spread in all regions of world in recent year. Dengue virus is transmitted by female mosquitoes mainly of species Aedesaegypti and Aedesalbopictus. There are four serotypes types of dengue virus designated as DENV 1, DENV 2, DENV 3, DENV 4. The dengue virus is a single stranded, positive sense RNA virus approximately 11 kb in length. Symptoms of dengue fever are Nausea, vomiting, Rash, Pains, Myalgia, Arthralgia, dengue hemorrhagic fever. Clothing, Mosquito repellents, Door and Window screens are used to prevent and control the dengue fever.
