REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH IN AYURVEDA W.S.R. TO GARBHA SAMBHAV SAMAGRI

. Abstract Ayurvedic classical texts gives special emphasis on Trayoupasthambas Ahara, Nidra and Brahmcharya. The three upsthambhas are the pillars of the human life, health and prosperity.[1] Where Bramhcharya represents the concept of maintaining a positive state of energy. Acharya Vagbhat had mentioned Samagatvirya kala 25yrs for male and 16 yrs for female.[2] Untill that period the body is not functional at psycologicai, physical and emotional levels, can invite several diseases which is prominent cause for Reproductive health disorders. Life exists and species are maintained by the biological process of reproduction. Ayurveda provides a holistic approach to improve fertility. In this technical era fertility in both men and women affected by many factors like stress, pollution, improper diet and sedentary lifestyle. Sushruta had mentioned 4 Garbh sambhav samgri (Essential elements for conception) – Rutu (Ideal time and period for conception), Kshetra (Ideal land), Ambu (essential nutrients), Beej (healthy sperm and ova).[3]All these 4 factors and it’s importance in reproductive health will be discussed in detail in this paper.
