Abstract

Introduction: Kasisgodanti Bhasma is a mannerism of herbo-mineral formulation given by Acharyas in Rasashastra treatises. This Kasisgodanti bhasma formulation is a compounding of two main elements i.e. Kasis and Godanti. This two elements after various procedure viz. Shodhana, Marana etc collectively change into different compound. Which can be used as a bhasma dosage form in various therapeutic indication. Aims and Objective: To establish manufacturing process for Kasisgodanti Bhasma. Material and Method: Kasis and Godanti purified by Bhringraj swarsa and Nimbu swarasa. Further process incorporated with Kasis and Godanti bhasma. Both in equal ratio then subjected to bhavana of haritaki kwatha, 3 times bhavana of ghritkumari swarasa, and then bhavana of ashwagandha kwatha in the sequence of bhavana and puta respectively. Discussion & Conclusion: Marana procedure of Rasodhhar tantra was found to be best because minimum no. of puta & minimum no. of cow dung cake used in this process that result low combustion.to prepare Bhasma and also time saving method and prescribed puta were sufficient to prepare Bhasma. In present study, the yield of KGB is 65 %. Average weight loss observed in KGB is 45 %.
