ANALYTICAL STUDY OF KAMALNALA KSHARA

Abstract

Kamalnal Kshar is one of the different Kshar in classic Ayurveda Texts. In introduction of Ashtang Ayurveda Sushrutacharya define Shalyatantra in which different objectives of Shalyatantra are explained. Kshar Pranidhana (Application of Ksharas) is a unique property of Shalyatantra its brief description including preparation, properties, its types, applications with indications and contraindications explained in Ksharpakavidhi Adhyaya of Sutrasthana. Kshara destroys the vitiated tissues and make them fall off or it torments the tissue. Kshar is most important among Shastras and Anushastra because it does functions like excision, cutting, and scrapping, mitigates all the three Doshas and is suitablr for being used by special methods. Pratisaraniya and Paniya are the two types of kshars, Kamalnala Kshara can be used as Pratisarniya and Paniya as well. To explored untouched properties ok Kamalnala Kshara analytical study of Kamalnal Kshar planed.
