ORAL HEALTH AND AYURVEDA: AN OVERVIEW

. Abstract Ascending prevalence of dental disorders and diseases concern with oral cavities are now notable problem worldwide. However modern medical therapeutics have remedies with certain chemical interference which have adverse effect also. A sustain, ancient, Indian medicine stream i.e. Ayurveda have solutions with preventive, promotive and curative objectives also through various methods, procedures, daily regimens measures as Dantdhavan, jivha nirlekhan, Kavala, Gandusha, Pratisarna, Tambula Sevan for overall health and for oral hygiene in various classical text, under various different titles. Ayurveda advocates methods, procedures, daily regimen measures to maintain oral hygiene as well promotive objectives for oral cavity and its health. Which are with higher efficacy, adverse event free, simple, safe, effective and economical. This is time to create awareness of oral health and Ayurveda in population to achieve preventive objective of oral health and interlink systemic disorders.
