REVIEW ON HEPATOPROTECTIVE PROPERTIES OF INDIGENOUS MEDICINAL PLANTS AGAINST LIVER TOXICITY

. Abstract Around the world, liver disease is one of the leading causes of illness and mortality. According to WHO estimates, around 500 million individuals worldwide are infected with chronic hepatitis, which kills over one million people each year. Medicinal plants are an important source of potentially valuable novel chemicals for the development of effective liver-related therapies. Herbal products are also more affordable and acceptable, have better compatibility with the human body, have less adverse effects, and are easier to store.
