CRITICAL REVIEW OF RAKTAVRUTTA VATA WITH REFERENCE TO VATARAKTA

. Abstract Acharya Charaka had described that Srotodushti takes place in four different ways. These are atipravrutti, sanga, vimarga gamana and siragrandhi.[1] In ayurved literature different types of avarana are briefly described. For better understanding the concept of avarana and diagnosis, thorough knowledge of samhita are necessary. This article elaborates the Raktavrutta vata and its relation to vatarakta. Acharya Charaka had mentioned Chikitsa of raktavrutta vata should be done as vatarakta chikitsa.[2] To understand this, concept of shatakriyakala plays an important role. After reviewing available literature we can say that rakatavrutta vata and purvarupa of vatarakta can be correlated. Keywords: raktavrutta vata, vatarakta, avarana.
