A CASE STUDY ON LEUKOPLAKIA: AN AYURVEDIC APPROACH

. Abstract Oral leukoplakia is a white patch or plaque which is persistent & adherent to mucous membrane can’t be scrubbed off. It can’t be characterized clinically or histologically and it has idiopathic association if definite cause is uncertain. Differential diagnosis needs to be done with yeast infection, lichen planus or candida. Cancer is more likely to occur in individual having idiopathic association females are at greater risk for malignant changes. Edges of leukoplakia lesion are typically abrupt and lesion changes with time. There are no other symptoms noted as such.
