Abstract

A successful case of Vitiligo is treated with ayurvedic management. Vitiligo has resemblance with kushta vydhi in ayurveda. A 58 yr female with confirm diagnosis of Vitiligo with DM and HTN with classical symptoms since more than 40 yrs is assessed subjectively and objectively, keen follow up were taken periodically. She was presented with white discolouration over both legs, both hands, lips, cheeks, eyes which started from very young age. Management done by administrating Panchtikta ghrit matrabasti 40 ml every day for consecutive 11 days. Assessment of symptoms is done for 4 months. Photos are taken time to time on every follow up for comparision of the white pathches over different areas of the body. Study showed the decrease in patch size, increase in darkness of skin, no new white patches from the starting of the treatment. This study emphasizes the visible effect of ayurvedic treatment in short period of time with no side effect, easiness and safety. This study is needed to be performed on large scale of patients to help fight people with Vitiligo.
