A COMPARATIVE PHARMACEUTICO – ANALYTICAL STUDY OF DHURDHOORADHI TAILA AND ITS MODIFICATION ON CREAM

Abstract

Dhurdhooradhi Taila is a classical formulation mentioned in Sahasarayogam. It contains Dhattura Patra Swarasa, Dhattura Beeja Kalka and Tila Taila. It is indicated in Daruanaka, Keshya Chyuti, Kesha Kandu and kasha Pata. The aim of this study was to prepare the Dhurdhooradhi Taila and convert in to its modified cream and pharmaceutico- analytical study was done. Both samples were subjected to organoleptic study, physical parameters, physicochemical parameters and chromatographic analysis. In results, LOD shows 0.70%w/w and 54.6% w/w in Dhurdhooradhi Taila and Dhurdhooradhi cream respectively. The Iodine value of Dhurdhooradhi Taila was found to be 77.8 and Dhurdhooradhi cream was 39.75. HPTLC fingerprinting showed more spots in Dhurdhooradhi Taila at 254nm and at 366 nm 3 peaks found in both samples.
