OSMOTIC CONTROLLED DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM: A NOVEL APPROACH FOR DIABETIC CARE
Urvashi Radheshyam Supe*, Shubham Manta Fuke, Neha Bhaurao Dandekar, Dr. Rashmi Vipinchandra Trivedi and Dr. Millind Janraoji Umekar
. Abstract Osmotic drug delivery system is the most promising strategy-based drug delivery system to enhance drug bioavailability. Oral osmotically controlled release delivery systems exploit osmotic pressure for controlled delivery of active agents. Physiological considerations have no effect on the release mechanisms of the oral osmotic control medication delivery system. Osmotic devices are the most promising strategy based system for controlled delivery of drug. Conventional drug delivery has little control over their drug release and almost no control over the effective concentration at the target site. Oral osmotic drug delivery systems with their versatility and their highly predictable drug release rates offer various biomedical advantages. The main purpose of developing sustained release formulations is to increase treatment performance by extending the duration of pharmacological activity and reducing dose frequency. Keywords: Osmotic drug delivery, NDDS, Controlled release, osmogens, diabetes mellitus. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
