FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF IMMEDIATE RELEASE DRUG DELIVERY OF MOLNUPIRAVIR TABLET
*Pooja B. Pawal, Arti S. Khamat and Akshay U. Gadekar*
. Abstract Now a days increased in viral infection deals dangerous to the human beings. As viral infection growth is footer in human locality it suffers difficult to the human life. To overcome this problem a new variety of drug that is molnupiravir is used in this research. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has led to a substantial increase in morbidity and mortality worldwide. Even though adequate vaccines are now available and newer ones are also under development for the prevention of severe COVID-19, effective antiviral drugs to combat this disease are currently lacking. The basic approach used in the formulation of the tablet is the use of superdisintegrants, like croscarmellose, sodium starch glycolate, and crospovidone, etc. These superdisintegrants provide instantaneous disintegration of the tablet after administration in the stomach. Thus, decreasing the disintegration time which in turn enhances drug dissolution rate. The antiviral tablet is prepared by direct compression method The formulated tablet then evaluated by preformulation and post formulation study, which includes powder drug evaluation, drug flow property, solubility. Post formulation study includes tablet evaluation and estimation of calibration curve, IR Spectra. Thus after evaluation from result it is concluded the drug substance is used for antiviral immediate release purpose. Keywords: Superdisintegrants, Molnupiravir, sodiumstarchglycolate, IR spectra, Calibration curve. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
