A REVIEW ARTICLE ON DALBERGIA SISSOO

. Abstract Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. is taken as Shinshapa among all the varieties. However other varieties are also taken as Shinshapa. IT is belong the Leguminoceae. Dalbergia sissoo held a special place in Ayurveda in ancient India, as mentioned in the works of Samhitas and Nighantus. All parts of the plant, including the leaves, flowers, seeds, roots, were used for a variety of medications, many of which were esoteric in nature. The goal of the current paper is to give and collect a comprehensive botanical description, synonyms, species, reproduction and dispersal, phenology and pharmacological studies of the plant.
