SIDDHA TREATMENT OF PALMOPLANTAR PSORIASIS - A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Kalanjaga padai (Psoriasis) is a chronic skin disease comes under autoimmune deficiency which is characterized by scales and red patches. Palmoplantar psoriasis is a type of psoriasis which particularly affects the soles of the feet and palms of the hands. One of the ancient medical systems is the Siddha stream of medicine indicates various Herbal and Herbo-Mineral & Herbo-Metallic formulations to treat Palmoplantar psoriasis. In a case observation of Palmoplantar psoriasis of a male patient of age 37 years old was treated with Siddha formulations showed a better cure. Sastric Siddha formulations such as Parangipattai tablet, Palagarai Parpam tablet, Seenthil Chooranam, Gandhaga Rasayanam, Vetpalai Thylam, Seemai Agathi Kalimbu Possessing Better management in the treatment of Palmo-plantar psoriasis. In addition to that lifestyle modifications as per Siddha text including a diet regimen including restrictions were followed during the treatment phase. This strongly suggests that our traditional Siddha medicines have potent therapeutic effects against the Skin disease Palmoplantar psoriasis. The treatment strategy followed in this mentioned case study is highly recommended for better management of Palmoplantar Psoriasis.
