. Abstract Background and Aim: Herbal cosmetics are becoming popular in the market due to the fact that they have fewer or no adverse effects. Moisturizing cream helps the skin to retain the moisture and thereby prevent problems like dry skin, irritation, rashes, wrinkles etc. Natural oils, Aloe Vera, yogurt, honey etc are the best and most easily available natural moisturizing agents. Aim of the study is to develop moisturizing cream using herbal oils and honey. Methods: Prepared moisturizing creams comprises of oil phase (Stearic acid, cetyl alcohol and moisturizing agents like Almond oil, Neem oil, Aloe Vera oil) and aqueous phase (triethanolamine, glycerin, honey and water). Different batches were prepared by changing the concentrations of stearic acid and cetyl alcohol. Prepared formulations were characterized by pH, viscosity, Spreadability, homogeneity, washability, after feel effect, irritancy, dilution test, test for microbial growth and in vitro occlusivity test. Result and Discussion: All the formulations were found to be oil in water type emulsions with good homogeneity and easy washability. pH of all formulated creams was comparable with skin pH. Viscosity results gave the consistency and spreadability results have revealed that cream is spreadable on the skin. In vitro occlusivity test indicates the prevention of water loss ant it was found more for F2 formulation. Conclusion: Based on evaluation studies F2 was found to having better characteristics than other formulations. It can be concluded that moisturizing cream containing herbal oils and honey have better moisturizing property. Keywords: Moisturizing cream, Stearic acid, Cetyl alcohol, Herbal oils, Honey.
