Abstract

Bheshaja Prasanga is an regional book of Karnataka mainly South Canara belt (Dakshina Kannada & Udupi). The author tries to give explanation about various treatment of diseases explained in Ayurveda by using local & easily available drugs. The treatment mentioned is useful for clinical practitioner & beginners of Ayurveda. The explanation are in Story & Poem form which helps in easy recall. The similes given by author can be easily understood by both doctor & patient. The use of regional language and regional origin of book helps to identify certain drugs present in that region. It also gives an idea about epidemiology of that region.
