LITERARY REVIEW ON GRAHNI WITH ITS MANAGEMENT

. Abstract Grahni is a place of digestive fire. The word Grahni means graha it means “to take” or “to hold” something. In Ayurvedic term grahni is a place which aids for food digestion. Agni (digestive fire) is critically important to maintain the health of our body, impaired agni (digestive fire) is the root of all the imbalance in our body and cause various diseases. Ancient Ayurvedic texts explain that the intake, digestion, absorption and assimilation of ahar is regulated by grahni. A healthy gut creates a healthy body. But when there is imbalance in our agni (digestive fire) and it became mand or alpa the ingested food leads to a pathological condition called grahni roga. Grahni is a disease that affects large population worldwide, especially in developing countries and is associated with poor diet and sedentary life style these days. What we are eating in our daily regime can manipulate the body constructively and destructively, later affecting both psychological and physical levels.
