TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA; AYURVEDA APPROACH: A CASE STUDY

. Abstract Trigeminal neuralgia is a neuropathic syndrome of trigeminal nerve that characterized by episodes of intense pain in eyes, lips, scalp, forehead, jaw and critical unilateral paroxysmal facial pain. Pain attacks are usually stimulated by tactile irritation within the region of the trigeminal nerve. Neuralgic pain typically relapses and remits, even when patients on conventionally treatments which results in poor quality of life. Symptoms of Trigeminal Neuralgia are similar with Shiroroga described in Ayurvedic classics. Present case is of 60 years old female patient suffering from Trigeminal neuralgia since 2019. In the last 2 years patient had taken alloptahic treatment but gets only symptomatic relief, and now there was remission of pain so the patient approached for Ayurvedic treatment. So, the present study was conducted with an aim to find out the effect of Ayurvedic management in trigeminal neuralgia. The possible understanding of the case in terms of Ayurveda and a therapeutic protocol with promising result has been discussed.
