Dr. Sunita Kumari* and Dr. Man Mohan Sharma
. Abstract The term "Agni" in Ayurveda refers to the process of digesting food and producing metabolic by-products. Agni transforms food into energy, which is in charge of all the essential bodily processes. Everything is dependent on Agni, including life (ayu), Varna, Bala, Utasaha (enthusiasm), anabolism, Prabha, Oja, and Drushti. Food that has been consumed must be digested and absorbed in order for life to be sustained; Agni is a constant agent in Paka (Ayu). One of the most significant Agni, also known as Kayagni or Jatharagni, is a vitiation of Agni called Mandagni, and this is the primary cause of Vyadhi. Therefore, it is crucial to cure Agni in order to treat Vyadhi. When a person's Agni is vitiated, his body's entire metabolism is disrupted, which leads to illness and disease. Agni is hence referred to as the foundation (moola) of life. Keywords: Agni, Jatharagni, Metabolism. [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
