ROLE OF DIET IN PCOS (POLYSYSTIC OVARIAN SYNDROME) – A LIFESTYLE DISORDER. A LITERARY REVIEW

. Abstract PCOS is a very common hormone problem for women of childbearing age. women with PCOS may couldn’t ovulate. Found with high level of androgenic hormones and ovaries with cysts.[1] Symptoms of PCOS are mainly deals with; irregular menstrual cycle, excessive hair growth and dark pigmentation of skin. PCOS is a lifestyle changing disorder. PCOS can be treated properly with proper diet, yoga and require some medication. Ovarian cysts affect ovulation. In Ayurveda, Granthi explained. Which is mainly made up of vata and kapha[2] dosha. Granthi can be considered as cyst according to their features explained in contexts. In India prevalence of PCOS in women ranges between 9- 36%. Main characteristic feature of PCOS is inappropriate gonadotropin secretion, showing raised testosterone level. Some women show oligomenorrhea and hyperandrogenism.
