A REVIEW ON CAUSES OF MYOCARDIAL INFRACTION AND ITS MANAGEMENT

. Abstract Myocardial Infarction commonly known as a heart attack is the disease of the blood vessel supplying the heart muscle (myocardium) i.e; coronary heart disease. The area of heart muscle has either zero flow or so little flow that it cannot sustain cardiac muscle function is said to be infracted and the overall process is called myocardial infarction. Mainly it is caused due to oxidative stress and atherosclerosis. According to the inter heart study report, nine factors are responsible for 90% of myocardial infarction. Risk factor include diabetes mellitus, smoking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, sedentary life style, obesity, stress and depression. The ECG, Coronary angiogram and X-ray of heart and blood vessels can be performed to observe the narrowing of coronary arteries.
