FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF AYURVEDIC HERBAL MOUTH WASH AGAINST ORAL DISORDERS

. Abstract Many bacterial species live in the mouth cavity. Although while some oral bacteria are harmless, there are some that are dangerous and can lead to oral plaque, foul breath, and oral diseases. As a result, maintaining proper dental hygiene is important for both body and mouth health. Herbs are valued greatly as being more effective than chemical products. Due to its long-lasting antibacterial and antifungal activity against human pathogens, medicinal plants have an essential function in treating diseases. As a result of the multifaceted etiology of dental caries in young children, preventive approaches often combine nutritional advice, oral hygiene instruction, and fluoridation. The main pathogen causing caries, Streptococcus mutations, are not explicitly targeted by any of these therapies. Thus, the standard preventative strategies now used to manage dental caries in conjunction with restorative therapies have failed to effectively manage the condition. This review is an attempt to outline such natural substances can be used as a effective mouthwashes. The present study aimed to formulate polyherbal mouthwash that have antibacterial properties.
