MEDICINAL PLANTS USED IN RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS

Abstract

India and Nepal, wherever 80 % of the whole population reports victimization, where its text is often Throughout practiced. The alternative medical practice of piece of writing has its origins within the Indian subcontinent. Apart from Ayurveda, we are able to notice traces of the use of herbs as medicines from The Shennong mount Cao Jing, a Chinese pharmacopeia, that lists herbal remedies like a tree for leprosy, ephedra, and hemp. The top 20 reported causes of outpatient office visits include acute pharyngitis. Almost every person in this world has or is suffering from a common cold. Apart from this herbal medications are used to treat sinusitis, pharyngitis, nasopharyngitis, nosocomial infections, acquired pneumonia, and other deadly infections like SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) and MERS (Middle east respiratory syndrome). Although there are several other species of plants that offer relief or are effective against upper and lower respiratory tract infections plants like licorice, turmeric, long pepper, thyme, and many more offer great relief. Apart from these herbs like tulsi, babul, tite pati, Kuru, and Chura also offer mild to little effect. These herbal medications have a long onset of action and are mostly employed in prophylactic or chronic ailments.
