MANAGEMENT OF DUSHTA VRANA – AN INTEGRATED APPROACH

Abstract

Dusta Vrana has always demanded great attention from the physicians from the fields of both ayurveda and allopathic system of medicine. Each case must be managed in a different manner by assessing the dosha’s involved and the co morbidities. One such attempt is done in this case of a 56-year-old male patient with a non-healing ulcer over the heal since 4 months, was managed with both the ayurvedic and allopathic systems. The patient achieved better wound healing with this combined approach without the need for any skin graft. Thus, integrated approach provides better outcome to the patient with diabetic foot ulcers.
