A REVIEW ARTICLE ON PANDU ROGA W.S.R ANAEMIA

Abstract
In Ayurveda, Pandu roga is one of the major diseases described in
various Ayurvedic texts. Pandu is a Raspradoshaja and Pitta Pradhan
Tridoshaja vyadhi (dominancy of Pitta). Rakta gets vitiated by Dosha,
mainly by Pitta dosha as rakta is Pittavargiya and it leads to common
condition like Pandu.[1] The disease most commonly resembles with
Anaemia of modern science because the clinical features of Pandu are
almost similar with that of Anaemia. Anaemia is currently the most
common and widespread nutritional disorder in the world.[2] For the
diagnosis and effective treatment, a physician must have thorough
knowledge of Pandu roga from different ancient Ayurvedic texts. This
article presents the Ayurvedic concept of Pandu roga.
