PTSA PROMOTED A BIOACTIVE SYNTHESIS OF (E)-1-PHENYL-N- (5-(PYRAZIN-2-YL)-1,3,4-THIADIAZOL-2-YL)METHANIMINE DERIVATIVES

. Abstract A novel series of (E)-1-phenyl-N-(5-(pyrazin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2- yl)methanimine derivatives were synthesized . The desired molecules were obtained by a reaction of 5-(pyrazin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2- amine with substituted aromatic aldehyde in the P-toluene sulphonic acid as catalytic. The compound 5-(pyrazin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2- amine can be synthesized by pyrazine carboxylic acid and semithiocarbazide. The entities were confirmed with the support of modern techniques like elemental analysis (CHN) and spectral analysis (1H and 13C NMR and LCMS). All compounds were evaluated for their biological potent such as antibacterial activity using a serial broth dilution method. Antimicrobial activity was performed against Gram (+Ve) bacteria (S. aureus, B. subtilis) and Gram (-Ve) bacteria (E.coli, P.aeruginosa). The title compounds showed moderate to excellent antimicrobial potency against different bacterial strains.
