. Abstract Hemoglobin (Hb) concentration is a critical indicator of the amount of oxygen-carrying protein in the blood and is often used to diagnose conditions such as anemia or polycythemia. Point-of-care diagnostic tests (POCT) have emerged as a valuable tool in providing rapid and effective healthcare. Simple, fast, and affordable POCT devices that do not require electricity, a laboratory, or highly trained personnel are now widely available and commonly used in low and middle-income countries.
