AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF SHEETAPITTA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO URTICARIA -A CASE STUDY

Abstract
Background: Urticaria is hypersensitivity reaction present within
short lived, itchy wheals which may be pale or pink in the centre
surrounded by red flare. Sheetapitta occurs due to vitiation of Kapha
and Vata. Aim: To study efficacy of Ayurvedic management of
Sheetapitta with special reference to Urticaria. Methodology: This
study deals with a 35 year old female patient having complaints of
itching appearance of red wheals. The patient was diagnosed as
Urticaria as per modern and Sheetapitta as per ayurveda. Result:
Patient got symptomatic relief. Conclusion: Ayurvedic management
was found to be very effective.
