FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF CHOCOLATE CONTAINING ALBENDAZOLE AND IVERMECTIN

Abstract
Chocolate has been known for its good taste and proposed health
effects for centuries. Most of the drugs are bitter due to which oral
administration of these drugs leads to patient incompliance especially
in children. The objective of the present study is to develop a chocolate
formulation of Albendazole and Ivermectin for pediatric
administration. The formulation consists of developing a chocolate
base containing a cocoa powder, cocoa butter, normal butter, and icing
sugar Thereafter drug is incorporated to above prepared chocolate
base. From among the entire batches, formulation F2 albendazole
showed 98.54% drug release at 45 minutes and F2 ivermectin showed 99.61% drug release at
40 minutes.
