Abstract

Ayurveda, being an ancient healthcare system, defines health as the equilibrium of various components of the body, including physical elements, mind, and soul. Pitta is one of the three Doshas and Agni represents the digestive fire. The article discusses the qualities and functions of Pitta and Agni, drawing parallels between them. Pitta governs digestion, thermoregulation, metabolism, pigmentation, and vision, while Agni converts Aahara into Aahara rasa. Both Pitta and Agni play vital roles in maintaining bodily functions and overall wellbeing. Both Pitta and Agni share similarities in their functions, and their balanced states contribute to optimal digestion and overall wellbeing. However, imbalances in Pitta can disrupt Agni, leading to various digestive issues. The article highlights the similarities and differences between Pitta and Agni and emphasizes the importance of maintaining their equilibrium for healthy digestion and metabolism. Understanding the relationship between Pitta and Agni can provide insights into maintaining digestive health and preventing related disorders.
