*Dr. Nitika Sharma and Dr. Divya Deepak Sharma

.

Abstract

Social media has been the second nature for most of us individuals and we have become internet addicts rather I would say we have become over addicted to it. It’s a boon for humans but our overly behavior is turning it out into a curse which is not only hindering our physical health but also our mental peace is at stake. It is impossible to live a social media blackout life but least we can do is use it properly and timely. Because, what happens when we begin obsessing over our social media presence is a peer pressure to post our achievements, good life and all smiles. We hardly post things which are real. In this way we don’t let ourselves enjoy the moment and live in the moment but live the moment on social platforms yielding to utter pressure, overspending to show perfect life causing us to stress over everything and mood swings become an inevitable part which comes as a gift all along. Ayurveda has always focused on Naishtiki Chikitsa for Manasadoshas along with other adjuvant to overcome the distress and its hazards.

Keywords: Social media, stress, Ayurveda.
