CONCEPT OF AGNI IN CONTEXT WITH GUT BRAIN AXIS

. Abstract Hippocrates of Kos, a Greek physician widely regarded as the founder of modern medicine, said that "all diseases originate in the gut," even though Acharya Charaka had already emphasized the significance of Agni (the digestive fire) when he said that "the cause of all diseases is Mandagni." It is now clear that the gut bacterial and flora can impact the physiology of the central nervous system (CNS) and play a significant role in pathological diseases of the same. The gut-brain axis, a bidirectional network of signaling channels that includes the vagus nerve, the immune system, and bacterial metabolites and products, serves as a medium for communication between the neurological system and the gastrointestinal tract.
