MANAGEMENT OF ASRUGDARA W.S.R PUBERTY MENORRHAGIAA CASE STUDY

. Abstract In ayurvedic classics menorrhagia is termed as asrugdara means excessive and prolonged bleeding during menstruation. Puberty menorrhagia is a fairly common gynecological disorder in adolescence. Menorrhagia may be noticed from the start of menarche but often the initial cycles may be normal. It takes the form of heavy menstrual bleeding lasting for several days but dysmenorrhea is invariably absent in anovulatory cycles. Anemia may be supervene. In this case hormonal imbalance is considered the root cause of hyperplasia of endometrium that causes menorrhagia, this often happens anovulatory cycles with excessive or unopposed influence of estrogen on the endometrium.[1] Here the case study of 18 years old girl presenting with heavy menstrual bleeding and bleeding is painless, irregular since menarche. In contemporary science OCP’s is the only way to treat this condition but she had tried OCP’s in the past but was not relieved and discontinued the treatment and came for ayurvedic management, with puberty menorrhagia line of treatment including shodhana, shaman and matrabasti.
