Rimpi Saini*, Divya Rani and Ruby Rani Agarwal
. Abstract In Ayurveda, Aamvata is a joint disorder which leads to inflammation, pain, stiffness, and limited mobility in the affected joints. It can be correlated with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is primarily considered an autoimmune disease, but research suggests that psychological factors can influence the severity of symptoms, disease activity, and overall well-being of individuals with Rheumatoid Arthritis. In Ayurveda, the concept of "Manasik Nidana" refers to the role of psychological factors in the manifestation and progression of diseases. According to Ayurvedic principles, Aamvata occurs when there is an imbalance in the Vata Dosha and the accumulation of Aam (toxic substances) in the joints. When we study causes of Aam formation, Manas Bhav such as anger, stress, depression, and anxiety are also important Nidana in Aam formation. Ayurveda is an ancient and holistic method of healing and wellness. Its primary goal is to keep a healthy person well and to restore health to a diseased person.[1] Nidana Parivarjan (elimination of causative factors) is a primary treatment of disease. So, in this article efforts are made to study the potential of Manas Bhav as Nidana contributing in the manifestation and exacerbation of Aamvata symptoms.
